Description
This is a grand terrace of houses located on Warwick Square, constructed in the mid-19th century as part of the square’s layout from 1843. The buildings are of stucco construction, with roofs hidden from view. Each house is five storeys high and measures three windows wide. The central section and the houses at the ends of the terrace project slightly forward, and feature rusticated quoins. They also have projecting Doric porches and panelled front doors. A continuous balustraded balcony runs along the first floor. The windows are corniced on the first and second floors, with the first-floor windows of the projecting houses being pedimented. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, except for first-floor French casements. A bracketed cornice runs along the top of the buildings, and is topped by cast iron spearhead railings. The terrace forms an integral part of the planned layout of Warwick Square.
