Description
Primrose Hill Canal Footbridge is a canal footbridge built around 1864 for the Regent's Canal Company, likely by the iron founder Henry Grissell, known for his work at the Canal Company's ironworks in Hoxton. The bridge is made of cast iron and features masonry abutments. It has a single span segmental arch supported by rusticated plinths and piers, which include cornices. The bridge is adorned with cast iron railings that have scroll bracketed standards, and there are coped masonry parapets leading to the approaches.
