Description

Coleshill Flats is a block of artisans' dwellings built in 1871 by the Peabody Trust. The building features white brick banding, stucco dressings, and leaded mansard roofs. It stands five storeys tall with an attic and consists of eight bays. The outer bay at each end and the inner pair of bays are set forward, showcasing square-headed architraved sash windows with glazing bars and pedimental blocking courses on the first floor. The roof is a French pavilion style with cast iron cresting, and there are gabled dormers. The intervening bays are recessed and include access balconies with cast iron balustrades and spandrels. The ground floor has shops that are separated by stucco pilasters and access stairways.
