Description

The Mason's Arms is a mid-19th century public house situated on the corner of Battersea Park Road. It is a three-storey building. The front elevation facing Battersea Park Road has three windows on the first floor and four on the second. The ground floor has been altered and is now tiled. The upper floors are faced with stuccoed stone. The first-floor windows are pairs of twin lancet windows set within a two-centred arched recess; each window has an apron of blind balustrade below a common cillband. Above a bandcourse, the second-floor round-headed windows have rusticated surrounds of keyblocks and voussoirs. Between the two inner windows, a corbel-block fronts a crocketed niche, supporting a figure of a mason holding a mallet and chisel. A dentil cornice supports a blocking course at the roofline.
