Description
Yew Tree Lodge is a Neo-Georgian house designed by Leonard Stokes in 1899. It is 7 bays wide, with 2 storeys and dormers, constructed of purple brick with stone and red brick dressings, topped with a tiled roof. A flight of stone steps leads to the projecting porch, which features panelled double doors set within a crossette surround. This is topped by a segmental hood that frames a moulded tympanum. The sashes have exposed box-frames, gauged flat arches, and stone keyblocks. The eaves cornice is boldly projecting, with a dentil course and paired modillions. The dormers have flat-headed sashes. The hipped roof rises to twin parallel stacks with oversailing courses, which are connected at the front and rear by continuous brick screens.
