Description
The Southfields War Memorial is a tall granite cross featuring a sculpted figure of Christ with an INRI scroll. At the base of the cross, there is an inscription that reads: "THIS / HAVE I DONE / FOR THEE". This cross is set on a rectangular stone block, which bears the inscription: "TO THE GLORY OF GOD / AND IN GRATEFUL REMEMBRANCE / OF THE OFFICERS / NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS AND MEN / OF THIS CHURCH AND DISTRICT / WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR / 1914 - 1919". Below this block is a much larger cuboid base, with each side displaying the names of the Fallen arranged by year. Additionally, there is another rectangular block on the front, right, and left faces that bears further names. The entire structure is situated on a stone platform within a small rockery bordered by grey stones.
