Description
This is a pair of semi-detached houses built around 1820 to 1830. They are located on the southwest side of St. Ann's Crescent. Originally listed as number 18, the properties are now recognised as numbers 20A and 20B. The houses are constructed of colourwashed brick with a hipped roof of Welsh slate, and feature a brick ridge stack. They follow a double-depth plan and are designed in a Regency style, with three storeys and a four-window front. The central two bays project slightly. The facade has a 1:2:1 window arrangement, with keyed semi-circular arches above the doorways in the outer bays and square-headed sash windows recessed within segmental arches in the centre. The first floor has 12-pane sashes, while the second floor features six-pane sashes, all set within flat brick arches. Two projecting bays have rounded corners and decorative wrought-iron balconies to the rear. Inside, the ground floor features early 19th-century decorative plaster cornices, and there are circular open-well staircases with stick balusters.
