Description
Toynbee Hall is a late 19th-century building designed by the architect Hoole. It is constructed of red brick with stucco dressings and features a gabled roof. The chimneys rise from a band at the first-floor sill height and break through the gables. The main northern section has two storeys and four windows, all with stucco dressings. The large lower windows have mullions and transoms and are fitted with leaded glazing. Above these, there are two one-light sashes. The central recessed part is styled similarly, while the southern block is at right angles and consists of two and one storeys. A small clock tower caps the western end of the building. Toynbee Hall is grouped with later modern buildings around a courtyard garden.
