Description
Nos 78 to 86 on Narrow Street, built in the early 18th century, are a row of four-storey brown brick buildings with red brick dressings and a parapet. The roofs are not visible. They feature moulded brick bands between the floors and have two windows each, with gauged brick arches and flush frames that include glazing bars. Nos 78 and 80 have recessed frames, while No 80 has a rusticated stuccoed ground floor with a round arched door and windows. The other buildings originally had wooden shop fronts, which have all been replaced by garage doors, although the existing fascia boards and outer framing of the shop fronts have been retained. The fourth storey has been altered, possibly as a later addition. These buildings, along with The Grapes Public House and Nos 78 to 94, form a group.
