Description

This is a house located at 31 Tite Street, built in the late 19th century. It was designed by the architect Edis and was the residence of the painter John S. Sargent for 24 years until his death in 1925. The house has two storeys, an attic, and a basement, and is constructed of painted brick. The front of the house is asymmetrical and features a Renaissance style. On the ground floor, there are three square-headed sash windows, and the entrance has a doorway with a broken pediment to the left. To the right, there is a studio window topped by a gable. The house is capped with a mansard roof.
