Description
This is a row of dwelling houses built in the mid-19th century. Numbers 2 to 42, ONSLOW SQUARE, form part of a larger terrace. The buildings are constructed of gault brick and stucco, and show a degree of similarity but also individual differences. Each house extends over three storeys with attics and basements. The ground floor is channelled with stucco, and a Doric porch fronts each house. The first-floor windows are pedimented, while those on the second floor and in the attic are set within segmental-headed surrounds. A bracketed cornice sits above the second floor. Numbers 18 and 26, and the end houses are set forward and feature Doric colonnades on the ground floor; the end houses also have tripartite windows. A cast iron balcony is located on the first floor. Area railings are present.
