Description

This is a terrace of eight houses, numbered 38 to 48, located on Cadogan Square in London. They were built in the late 19th century. The houses are constructed of red brick with tiled mansard roofs. Each house stands four storeys high, with an attic and a basement. Typically, each house has three windows facing the square, although the detailing varies slightly between them. A prominent feature is the presence of Dutch gables on each house. Bay windows extend from the ground floor up to the second floor, particularly noticeable on numbers 42 and 48. The windows are predominantly square-headed and sash windows. The reveals to the second-floor windows are arched, except for those on number 42. First-floor balconies are also a characteristic feature. The houses are primarily listed due to their contribution to the group value of the Cadogan Square estate.
