Description

This is a terrace of houses located on the west side of Thurloe Square, built between 1839 and 1843 by the architect George Basevi. Numbers 34 to 44 are included, with the exception of number 34 being a later addition. The houses are constructed of brick with a rusticated stucco finish to the ground floor. They are three storeys high with an attic and basement. Each house has a Doric porch, and a continuous balcony with iron railings runs along the front. The first-floor windows are topped with stucco architraves. Numbers 34 and 44 project forward and feature corner pilasters that extend through the first and second storeys.
