Description
This is a pair of gatepiers located at the north entrance of St Mary Abbot's Hospital, designed by architect Thomas Allom in 1848. The gatepiers are constructed of red brick, featuring white brick dressings, and are adorned with stone cornices, finials, and bases. Each pier is square and has a prominent cornice topped by an octagonal stage that includes decorative panels and an ogee finial. These gatepiers mark the entrance to the former Kensington Workhouse.
