Description

This is a row of terraced houses on the west side of Edwardes Square, dating from the early 19th century. They are built of brown brick with stucco ground floors. Each house is three storeys high and three windows wide. The doorways are round-headed, and the first floor features balconies with ironwork and spearhead railings. Numbers 35 and 36 have an additional storey, a cement cornice, and a blocking course, similar to number 13. The writer Leigh Hunt lived at number 32 between 1848 and 1850. The houses form a group with numbers 1 to 23. Number 24 has a different design, with roughcast rendering and alterations. The south side of the square is now occupied by modern flats, warehouses, and garages, while the north side consists of the backs and gardens of Earl's Terrace.
