Description

The Monument to Cardinal Newman, who died in 1890, is located on Brompton Road. It is made of stone and features a three-stage design. The central stage is supported by Ionic columns at each corner and has a niche that holds a figure of Newman. Above this is an entablature adorned with a palmette frieze, which is topped by a statue of the Virgin and Child.
