Description
A terrace of six houses, numbered 6 to 12, located on the south side of Thurloe Square, was built between 1839 and 1843 by George Basevi. The houses are constructed of brick and feature three storeys with a basement and attic. The ground floor is rusticated with stucco, and each house has a Doric porch. A continuous balcony with iron railings runs along the front. The first-floor windows have eared stucco architraves. Numbers 11 and 12, the houses at the east end of the terrace, are set forward and feature stucco quoins. A continuous modillion cornice sits above the second floor, and a plain cornice defines the roofline of the attic storey. The forecourts are enclosed by cast iron railings.
