Description

These buildings at 4, 5, and 6 Chelsea Embankment date from around 1880 and were designed by E W Godwin. They are constructed of red and yellow brick with a slate roof. The buildings are three storeys and attics, with an additional two storeys to the attic level, and include a basement. A continuous cornice incorporating metopes and triglyphs runs along the top. Bay windows are present on the first and second floors, each with a balcony. The ground floor windows are set within segmental arched recesses, and some feature pedimented bows. Terra-cotta medallions are used for decorative detailing.
