Description

A terrace of large houses located at 47-52 Queen's Gate, built circa 1859-60 and designed by C.J. Richardson, originally known as the "Albert Houses." This extremely grand terrace is constructed of stucco and features five storeys with three windows per house. A colonnade runs along the ground storey, supporting individual Ionic porticos on the first floor. Intricate cast iron balustrades lead to balconies, which are supported by enriched consoles decorated with flowers and grapes. The attic cornice is elaborately decorated, featuring central segmental pediments for each house. Original area railings are also present.
