Description
This is a three-window, four-storey terraced house with a basement, dating from 1720 to 1723. It was developed by Simon Michell and built by George Greaves. The house is constructed of multicoloured stock brick in a Flemish bond, with dressings of gauged red brick, some yellow brick to the second floor, and rendered sections. The roof is hidden by a parapet.
A round-arched entrance is located in the left-hand bay, featuring fluted pilasters, decorative carved brackets, a panelled frieze, and a flat hood with a panelled soffit. A fanlight with carved foliage in the spandrels is positioned above the door. The ground and first floors have flat-arched windows with gauged brick surrounds, set almost flush with the wall. Storey bands of gauged brick define the floors. The second-floor windows are segmental-arched with recessed frames. A parapet runs along the top of the house, and a dormer window extends across the full width of the building. Cast-iron railings define the area at the front of the property.
