Description
This is a row of ten semi-detached villas, numbers 73 to 91 (odd), with attached railings at number 91, dating from around 1840. The houses are constructed of stock bricks laid in a Flemish bond pattern, with stucco dressings, and have flat and gabled roofs covered in Welsh slate, along with party-wall stacks. They follow a side-hall entrance plan with a staircase.
Each house has a basement, two main floors, and a common pedimented attic to the inner bays. The arrangement is of two windows per floor, with the windows above the main entrance being narrower. Steps lead to a linked entrance bay recessed within the row. The entrance features a stucco porch with a central square column supporting a continuous entablature. The entrance door is a four-panelled door, flanked by pilaster jambs with a corniced head, surmounted by a three-paned rectangular overlight. The windows are primarily 6/6 sashes with margin lights, although Nos. 75, 83 and 85 have 20th-century replacements. A stucco cornice and parapet are present on the first floor of the entrance bay, and a stucco pediment tops the attic storey. Attic sashes cut across the entablature and intrude into the triangular spaces (typani) of the pediments, except for numbers 89 and 91. Iron railings are attached to number 91.
