Description

The chapel, dating to circa 1870, originally served the Sailmaker’s Almshouses and stands within the Drapers’ Almshouses complex, which forms three sides of a courtyard with detached wings. The chapel is gabled and features pointed traceried windows. A three-bay gabled portico with a pierced parapet is constructed of stone. A wooden bell turret with a slated roof sits atop the gable. Ornamental cast iron rainwater heads are also present. The building is yellow stock brick with stone dressings and a red brick eaves cornice and band at first floor level. The interior is not described in the listing. The chapel forms a group with the Drapers' Almshouses and lodge.
