Description
Greenside School is a primary school built in 1950 by architect Erno Goldfinger. The structure features a precast reinforced concrete frame with brick infill and shallow mono-pitched roofs. It is a single-storey building, with a taller assembly hall that is fully glazed. The concrete frame is designed to show its piers tapering towards the base on the exterior. Next to the entrance, there is a large brick tower in an 'H' plan shape. Inside the entrance hall, there is a notable top-lit mural created by artist Gordon Cullen. This school is one of only two designed using Goldfinger's school building system.
