Description
Burlington Danes School, including the attached caretaker's house, was built in 1936 by architects Burnet, Tait and Lorne. The building is constructed from narrow yellow bricks and faience on a steel frame, featuring a flat roof and rising four storeys. The front facade has a vertical emphasis, with the entrance located to the right under a cantilevered canopy. There is a half-round projecting stair tower, and to the left, four tall strip windows are present. The caretaker's house, located to the far left, is two storeys high and two windows wide, with aluminium replacement glazing. At the rear, there is a three to four storey block with horizontal fenestration. Some alterations and additions have been made to the west side, and the building features steel framed windows, a flagpole, and a clock on the front facade.
