Description
These are a group of three early to mid-19th century houses, numbered 17 to 22 Sutton Place. Each house is three storeys high with a basement and has two windows in the main block, accompanied by a one-storey entrance extension. The upper floors are constructed of stock brick with a stone-coped parapet. Sash windows with glazing bars are set within gauged flat brick arches. A cill band is present on the first floor.
Nos 17 and 18 have similar ground floor treatments. However, Nos 19 to 22 have a stuccoed ground floor, featuring round-headed sash windows with glazing bars and margin lights, recessed within round arches. No 22 has a projecting cill with a cast iron guardrail. The front doors consist of two long panels with reeded heads and rectangular fanlights; those of Nos 21 and 22 are patterned. Extensions are present on either side of Nos 17 and 18. The buildings are recognised for their group value.
