Description
Nos 31 to 41 on New North Road is an early 19th-century terrace consisting of three storeys and a basement, with two windows each. The buildings are constructed of stock brick and feature a panelled parapet, which has been repaired. Nos 39 and 41 have slated mansard roofs with dormer windows. The sash windows on the first and second floors have gauged flat brick arches and glazing bars, with those on the first floor set in round arched recesses that rest on a cill band. There are cast iron balconies with an anthemion pattern, although some are missing. The ground floor has round-headed windows with interlacing glazing bars. The doors are made up of three shaped panels, flanked by fluted side plasters and topped with wide fanlights set in gauged brick round arches. No 33 features a carriage archway that has been reinforced with engineering brick and retains its original shaped double doors. Together, Nos 31 to 41, along with their forecourt walls and railings, form a cohesive group.
