Description
Ye Olde Cock Tavern is a public house located at 22 Fleet Street, built in 1912 by architects Gilbert and Constandures. The building features painted roughcast and stands four storeys tall with an attic, presenting a single bay facade. The ground floor has an entrance marked by a wide four-centred arch. Above, at the first floor, there is a timber mullioned and transomed oriel window with leaded lights. The attic is set within a half-timbered gable that has plain bargeboards, and the building is topped with a steep tiled roof. A hanging sign is displayed on a wrought iron bracket. Inside, there is a 17th-century stone chimneypiece supported by plain brackets, featuring an oak overmantel flanked by enriched terminal pilasters.
