Description
The Phoenix Assurance Company building, located at 187 Fleet Street, was constructed in 1834, possibly by John Shaw. It is designed in the Elizabethan style and features a later extension that matches this style. The building is made of gault brick and Portland stone and stands three to four storeys tall, showcasing bowed oriel windows. It includes carved decoration and is topped with a balustrade. The building also has a return to Clifford's Inn Passage.
