Description
The Gatehouse at St Bartholomew's Hospital is a Grade I listed building dating from 1702. It features an archway set in a rusticated ground storey, framed by a pair of Ionic pilasters. Above the archway, there are three richly decorated storeys topped with a pediment. A statue of Henry VIII is located on the first floor. The building has short, unwindowed wings that rise to two storeys and is plain at the rear. It is complemented by good iron gates, which date from the late 18th century or early 19th century.
