Description
Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese Public House is a late 17th-century building that has undergone significant alterations. The front facing Fleet Street is made of yellow brick and likely dates from the late 18th century, while the building was remodeled and heightened in the 19th century. It stands four storeys tall, plus dormers in a slated roof, and features three windows with segmental arches. The ground storey includes a shop. The side elevation facing Wine Office Court also has four storeys, with one wide window followed by six windows that appear to be from the mid to late 18th century, constructed of yellow brick with red arches. The ground storey has old, continuous glazing and a doorway with an elliptical pattern above it. Inside, there is a late 17th-century vaulted cellar beneath a small courtyard.
