Description
Cutlers' Hall is a building of the 1880s, constructed in 1884 by Taylor Smith (?). It is designed in a simplified late 16th-century style. The building is two storeys high and constructed of red brick with pink sandstone dressings. The roof is slated with small dormers, topped by a plain parapet. A richly carved doorway features a coat of arms above, along with a pair of iron lamp brackets and a hanging sign. A secondary entrance and a polygonal projection are located to the right. A good terracotta frieze of figures in high relief, modelled by George Tinworth, runs above the ground storey. There are three pairs of windows on the upper floor.
