Description
The Tomb of Zachariah Darby, located in St John's Churchyard, is a chest tomb built around 1832. It is made of marble and has a rectangular shape resting on a stepped base. The tomb features clasping pilasters with incised decoration and is inscribed on the north side. Surrounding the tomb are attached cast-iron railings topped with torch flambe finials. This tomb forms a notable group with the nearby tomb of John Constable, Royal Academician.
