Description
A mid-19th century terrace of five cottages located in Camden. The cottages are constructed of yellow stock brick, with Nos. 3-5 painted. They have slated roofs, tall brick chimney stacks, and a dog tooth eaves cornice. The terrace is two storeys high. Each cottage has a double-fronted facade with two windows, except for No. 5, which features a projecting diagonal end bay with two windows. Nos. 1-3 have 20th-century Neo-Georgian doorcases with panelled doors, while Nos. 4 & 5 retain original segmental-arched doorways with panelled doors (though the door at No. 4 is a 20th-century replacement). They have 12-pane sash windows, with shutters to Nos. 1-3. The interiors were not inspected. Inside No. 2 is a refixed tablet inscribed "Squires Mount Croft, 1704", likely taken from an earlier 18th-century house at the rear, as shown in Rocque’s survey of 1745.
