Description

Numbers 25-29 are a terrace of five houses built around 1814 by James Burton. The houses are made of multi-coloured stock brick with rusticated stucco ground floors. They feature round-arched doorways, with Nos 25 and 26 having pilaster-jambs, while Nos 27-29 are adorned with fluted Doric half columns. Each house has fanlights and double panelled doors. The recessed sash windows have gauged brick flat arches, with some retaining original glazing bars; No. 28 includes first-floor casements. Continuous cast-iron balconies are present at the first-floor windows, except for No. 25, which has window guards. A stucco cornice is located at the third-floor sill level, and there are parapets above the attic storey. The interiors were not inspected. The terrace also has attached cast-iron railings with urn finials leading to the areas, and No. 27 features a lamp-holder.
