Description

Glen House is a light industrial building that has been converted into offices. The southern half, known as Nos. 204-208, was constructed between 1913 and 1914 by architects Hobden and Porri, while the northern half, Nos. 200-203, was built around 1923 in a similar style by Ernest Souster. Originally, it was built for the Bosch Magneto Company and features a Mannerist architectural style.

The building stands five storeys tall and consists of 13 bays. The ground floor openings are flanked by pillars with grooved panels and rectangular blocks. The upper floors display austere full-height pilasters that culminate in intricate Mannerist brackets, which support a parapet adorned with geometrically patterned cast-iron railings and stone dies. The windows from the first to the third floors are metal-framed with half-columns, transoms, and mullions, along with enriched spandrel panels; the third floor windows are topped with stone arched heads. The fourth floor features metal-framed windows with stone half-columns flanked by brackets. A clock inscribed "Glen House" is mounted on an elaborately enriched wall bracket at the first floor level. The design extends to the returns on Alfred Mews and Chenies Street, with the Alfred Mews facade showcasing a triple doorway supported by grooved pilasters. The interior has not been inspected.
