Description
This building, originally the Cruel Sea Public House and now a restaurant called Nachos, is a public house dating from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick with stucco dressings and has a slated roof. The building is two storeys high and features a double front with three window bays. The ground floor retains original granite pilasters on plinths that support a dentil entablature. The early 20th-century windows and a later entrance are also present. The first floor has channelled pilaster strips at the corners and dividing the bays, which carry a dentil cornice with an enriched frieze. The windows on this level are three-light transom and mullion types. The parapet is adorned with stucco balustraded panels over the end bays and terminates at angles with ball finials. The interior was altered in the early 1990s.
