Description

Summit House is an office block built in 1925 by architects Westwood and Emberton for Austin Reed. The building features a steel frame covered with deep yellow faience, highlighting its grid-like design. It stands six storeys tall, with a three-storey stair bay on the left side and eight window bays plus the stair bay. The return section facing Dane Street is four storeys high with ten windows. The bays are defined by plain faience cladding strips that extend to a simple blocking course.

The entrance is recessed and has wooden doors that include two carved panels from the original doors, designed by Percy Metcalfe, showcasing Austin Reed products such as ties, collars, socks, and waistcoats. One panel features a letter box with carved envelopes, the word "letters," and a lion, while the other has a date panel also carved with a lion. The building has metal-framed windows with spandrel panels that display geometric faience relief decoration. The three-storey stair bay has a slightly protruding black-painted metal bay that rises through the storeys and is fitted with narrow vertically set windows.

The interior has not been inspected. The property also includes attached decorative iron railings with curved spikes on a stone wall surrounding the area.
