Description

This is a terrace of eight houses, built around 1780. The houses are constructed of darkened, multi-coloured stock brick, with much of the brickwork having been tuck pointed. The ground floors of numbers 1 to 7 are stuccoed and rusticated, and all houses have stucco sill bands. They have slate mansard roofs with dormers. Each house is three storeys high with attics and basements, and originally had three windows to the front. Numbers 7 and 9 have a return of three blind windows to Gower Mews, and number 15 has a three-window return, largely blind, to Store Street. The entrances are round-arched, recessed, and have rusticated surrounds, impost bands, and cornice heads, topped by fanlights and mostly panelled doors. Gauged brick flat arches top the recessed two-pane sash windows, with most windows on the first floor having cast-iron window guards. The houses are finished with a cornice and parapet. The interiors have not been inspected. Attached cast-iron railings with acorn finials define the areas.
