Description

Numbers 119 and 121 Heath Street are two early 18th-century terraced houses. Number 119 was substantially refronted in the late 19th century, while Number 121 was refronted in the early 19th century.

Number 119 is built of multi-coloured stock brick with red brick dressings. It has a mansard roof, slated at the lower section and tiled at the upper, with a dormer window. The house has two storeys, an attic, and a semi-basement, with two windows per floor. The doorway has a stucco surround, connected to Number 121 by a bracketed hood, a radial-patterned fanlight, and a panelled door, approached by steps flanked by cast-iron railings. It has recessed sash windows with red brick segmental arches. A parapet in front of the dormer has been cut down.

Number 121 has a painted cement front with pilaster strips at the corners, topped with shaped details. It also has a slated mansard roof with a dormer. The house is two storeys high with an attic and a semi-basement, and has one window. The doorway is similar to Number 119. It has recessed sash windows, a first-floor cast-iron balcony, and a parapet.

The interiors have not been inspected. The group value derives from the architectural coherence and historical significance of the two properties as a terraced pair.
