Description
This barn, located immediately to the north of The Old House, is the main part of a range of farm buildings and dates from the early 18th century. It has eight bays and features a single aisle along the north side, positioned sideways to the road. The structure is timber-framed, partly covered with weatherboarding, while the upper part of the south side is plastered, and the aisle wall has been rebuilt in brick. The roof is covered with black glazed pantiles. Inside, the framing includes a middle rail, bisected studs, and primary braces, although some of the arched braces to the tie-beams have been partly renewed or removed. The roof structure consists of one row of clasped purlins, queen struts, and a ridge-piece. The barn is included for its group value with the surrounding buildings.
