Description

Numbers 104-108 are a terrace of five houses, now used as shops, built in the mid-19th century. The front is made of red brick with white brick and stone detailing, while the rear features walls of random flint and stone with red brick accents. The roofs are slate with white brick parapets designed in a pierced saltire pattern. Number 104 has been rendered over the brick and has lost its parapet.

The terrace is two storeys high with basements and has an eleven-window range. Each house features 12-pane sash windows set in plain reveals, topped with projecting brick and stone dentilled cornices on console brackets. On the ground floor, there is a single 12-pane sash window for each house, accompanied by a dentilled and bracketed brick and stone cornice. The doors are slightly recessed and have plain rectangular fanlights within heavy doorcases that include plain reveals, pilasters with Ionic capitals, and flat dentilled cornices.

Cast-iron railings with an unusual saltire design line the street frontage, enclosing the areas in front of the basements. At the eastern end, there is an elliptical archway. The rear wall features a row of 12-pane sash windows on the first storey with segmental-arched frames and surrounds. There are various 20th-century extensions on the ground floor. The interior has not been inspected.
