Description
PLACE FARMHOUSE is a farmhouse dating from the early to mid 19th century. It has two storeys and is constructed from a combination of flint and yellow brick. The older section of the building runs east-west and is positioned sideways to the street. Its east gable wall is made of kidney flint, while the south garden front features yellow brick. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, featuring wide eaves.
On the south front, there are four small-paned sash windows set in deep reveals with flat gauged heads. The gable end has one small-paned two-light casement window in a rusticated surround, along with a small-paned sash window in a similar surround on the upper storey. The entrance door is off-centre in the gable wall; it is a six-panelled, half-glazed door with a semi-circular fanlight, framed by a heavy semi-circular rusticated timber surround.
To the north of the original range, there is a mid 19th-century brick extension aligned north-south, topped with a two-span roof covered in late 20th-century composition slates. This section features five small-paned sash windows, also set in deep reveals with moulded heads made of composition stone.
