Description
Waverly is a house built in the mid-17th century, featuring a three-cell lobby-entrance plan with a short cross-wing for the parlour block. It has one and a half storeys and attics. The structure is timber-framed and rendered, with some panels displaying herringbone pargetting. The roof is thatched and includes an eyebrow casement dormer, while the octagonal chimneys, made of red brick, were added around 1970. The house has mid-20th century casement windows and a boarded and battened entrance door. Inside, there are open fireplaces in the hall and parlour dating back to the 17th century. The roof features clasped purlins, and the main range incorporates a set of rafters from a house that had an open hearth, possibly located on this site.
