Description

The Old Stores, Kimcot and The Cottage is a 17th-century timber-framed and plastered house with an L-shaped plan. It features a wing extending northwest at the rear, known as The Cottage, and a cross wing at the southwest end. The building has undergone significant alterations in the 18th century and later. It stands two storeys high in the rear wing and cross wing, while The Old Stores has one storey and attics. The windows include a mix of partly double-hung sashes with glazing bars and partly 20th-century casements. A 20th-century shop front projects from the front of the building. The roofs are tiled, with two sloping slate-roofed dormers above The Old Stores. This property, along with Vine Cottage, Brook Cottage, Dingle Dell Cottage, and The Old Forge, is part of a group.
