Description
Barrow Lodge is a house built in the late 18th century, with a 19th-century wing and alterations made in the mid-20th century. The building has two floors and three windows, constructed of red brick, featuring a modillion eaves cornice. It has a hipped roof covered with concrete pantiles and a hidden gutter. The small-pane sash windows are topped with rubbed brick flat arches.
A mid-20th century two-storey entrance porch made of red brick has been added, which includes a re-set original doorway. This doorway features a six-panelled fielded door, sunk flanking pilasters, and fielded panelled reveals, topped with an open pediment that has a semi-circular fanlight with radial glazing bars and a leaded patterned border. To the right of the main structure is an early 19th-century extension, which has two floors and is made of flint with red brick quoins, also featuring pantiled roofs and wrought iron small-pane casements.
