Description
London House is a building that serves as both a shop and a house, dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. It has two storeys, with the shop featuring roughcast render and a colourwashed finish, topped by a pantiled roof. The shop front is a single-storey, flat-roofed double design, and there are two 3-light casement windows on the upper storey, one of which has square leaded panes. At the rear, there is a red brick extension that wraps around the corner. An internal chimney stack with a plain red brick shaft connects the shop to the house, which is also made of red brick and includes a plain string-course. The house has old 3-light casement windows, including one on the upper storey with square leaded panes, and an off-centre 20th-century door. To the south of the house, there is a small single-storey extension that is roughcast and colourwashed, featuring black-glazed pantiles, an internal chimney stack with a high plain shaft, and two 2-light casement windows. The building is included for its group value.
