Description
Fairways is a house that was later divided into two dwellings, dating from the early 16th century. A stack was added and the building was floored in the 17th century. It features a timber frame that is plastered, topped with a steeply pitched pantiled roof. The structure consists of three cells, originally including a small open hall, with the stack inserted at the upper end of the hall. It is now two storeys high.
On the ground floor, the entrance is located to the right of the centre, in the original position of the cross passage, featuring a four-panelled door within a glazed porch. There are three 19th-century casement windows, and a brick lean-to outshut is present to the left. The first floor has two 19th-century casement windows. A ridge stack is positioned to the left of centre, while the left gable end reveals exposed plates and purlins. The right gable end has a brick lean-to outshut.
Inside, there are mortices for diamond mullioned windows, a stop-chamfered axial binding beam, and joists in the parlour. The building also has jowled posts and a butt purlin collar roof with windbraces.
