Description
The De La Pole Arms is a former public house dating from the 16th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a pantiled roof featuring glazed black tiles at the front. The building has two storeys and an attic, designed in a three-cell layout. It includes four windows, which are various 18th and 19th century casements, with two 5-light windows located on the ground floor. A 19th century boarded door provides entrance. Inside, there is an internal stack, and the hall and parlour feature moulded bridging beams. The first floor framing is exposed, showcasing an arched-braced cambered tie beam in the hall chamber. There is one diamond-mullioned window and evidence of additional windows. The service end of the house has been modified to include a cellar, and there is a secondary diamond-mullioned window in the gable end. To the right of the building, there are 19th century brick stables, and mid-20th century additions can be found to the left.
