Description
The Anchorage is a house dating from the 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It features a timber frame that is plastered and scored to resemble ashlar. The building has a steeply pitched roof covered with plain tiles. It consists of two cells with an end stack and stands two storeys high.
On the ground floor, there are steps leading up to a central entrance, which has a raised six-panelled door with an architrave that includes a cornice. The ground floor also has architraved single glazing bar sash windows. The first floor features architraved sash windows with three panes over six panes, along with an eaves cornice.
There is an external stack on the right end of the building, which has double offsets at the front and shows exposed plates and purlins. At the rear, there is a second stack that is internal to the left, along with a lean-to outshut. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included for its group value.
