Description
Wallow Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 16th century, with alterations made around 1778 and in the mid-20th century. It has a three-cell plan and stands two storeys high. The building is timber-framed and plastered, featuring a raised plaster oval above the entrance that displays the date 1778. The roof is thatched and includes a central chimney made of red brick from the 17th century. The windows are mainly small-pane casements from the mid-20th century, and the entrance door is a glazed panelled design from the same period. The heavy, un-moulded wall and first-floor framing members are from the mid-16th century or earlier, though they were altered in the 18th century when an additional cell was added to the right with slender framing. There are also various single-storey additions at the rear that were constructed in the 19th and 20th centuries.
